16th Annual Program
UK Student Center
Over 150 teachers’ names have been put forward for the 16th Annual Teachers Who Made a Difference program this year. Teachers from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky have been nominated for this honor. Teachers from Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Ohio have also been suggested by their students and communities. The Teachers Who Made a Difference recognition ceremony will take place April 26 in the UK Student Center Theater.
Invitations have been mailed to all honorees whose names were submitted. The deadline for honorees to reply is March 27. If the honoree plans to attend the ceremony in the UK Student Center on April 26, then the individual who submitted the teacher’s name will receive an invitation to the ceremony. Those honorees unable to attend will receive their award via postal mail. For more information, please read the Frequently Asked Questions.
Why do we do this? Teachers are exceptional people! They stimulate our minds, they encourage and challenge us, they support us, and they inspire us to become who we want to be. The submission period for the 16th Annual Teacher Who Made a Difference Award (2014) is closed. Please watch for next year’s program to honor a teacher who made a difference in your life.
Honorees can be teachers, professors, principals or other educational professionals. They do not have to be graduates of the University of Kentucky or residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Also, there is no selection process for the program. We simply want to recognize educators who made a positive impact on the lives of their students. However, the number of honorees to be recognized is limited, so organizers ask that nominators limit recognitions to one educator per year.
