Over 150 teachers’ names have been put forward for the 16th Annual Teachers Who Made a Difference program this year. Teachers from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky have been nominated for this honor. Teachers from Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Ohio have also been suggested by their students and communities.
Why do we do this? Teachers are exceptional people! They stimulate our minds, they encourage and challenge us, they support us, and they inspire us to become who we want to be. Honorees can be teachers, professors, principals or other educational professionals. They do not have to be graduates of the University of Kentucky or residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Also, there is no selection process for the program. We simply want to recognize educators who made a positive impact on the lives of their students. However, the number of honorees to be recognized is limited, so organizers ask that nominators limit recognitions to one educator per year.
