Finding Scholarships & Financial Aid
The College of Education offers scholarships for entering freshmen, enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, as well as students in the COST overseas student teaching program. All applicants must be enrolled in the College of Education at the time their application is submitted. The College of Education has both needs-based and non-needs-based scholarships. Students may apply for both.
While academic merit is a factor in awarding our scholarships, only those students who have financial need will be considered for needs-based funds. Applicants who wish to be considered for needs-based scholarships must include a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR) with their scholarship application. The SAR is received after completing a Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Forms and information about the FAFSA are available from the UK Office of Student Financial Aid. Non-needs-based scholarships do not require completion of the FAFSA process, since financial need is not a factor in making these awards.
A note about deadlines:
College of Education General Scholarships always become available the first week of December and are always due around the second week of February. At no other time should applications be available.
Applications are ALWAYS for the following year (for example, the scholarship application available in December 2014 was for the 2015-2016 academic year).
Applications can be obtained during the dates noted above inside Taylor Education Building room 166 and on this page.
The deadline for submission for the upcoming academic year was Feb. 13, 2015. Application questions may be directed to:
