Professional Services

In addition to the Department of Educational Leadership’s extensive professional development efforts, faculty working through Centers, Labs and Academies provide professional services to schools, districts, government agencies, consortia, non-profit and private sector corporations in the Commonwealth, nation and globally. The scope of professional service reflects the extensive background and expertise of faculty. In many instances professional services in the form of expert advice are provided at no cost. We are pleased to be extensively engaged with educators, supporting their work in solving problems as well as launching and sustaining innovative practices.

EDL faculty frequently partner with school districts and organizations in preparing external funding proposals. More extensive, long-term projects that involve planning, program development and evaluation often require them to charge reasonable fees to cover costs. The Department of Educational Leadership Studies offers a variety of professional services such as program design, leadership development, school technology and evaluation.

Professional Development

The scope of professional service reflects the extensive background and expertise of faculty. The Department of Educational Leadership Studies offers a variety of professional development opportunities for both alumni and other school leaders throughout the state through which EILA credit may be earned. This professional development varies from year-long deep dive relationships, the Next Generation Leadership Academy, to entire conferences, such as the Law and Policy Symposium and International Symposium on Educational Reform, to personalized inservice days in local schools. We believe that PD should be personalized, locally constructed, and extremely relevant to your needs. We want to work with you to craft the right PD solutions for your context.

The following are examples of some of the professional development opportunities we have provided in the past.

International Work

The Department of Educational Leadership Studies is committed to building global competencies in school leaders in the Commonwealth, the nation and internationally. Global economics and technological advances have changed the landscape of education, altered the way children learn and re-centered leadership. EDL has launched international initiatives that have brought together researchers and scholars from a broad array of disciplines to explore critical educational challenges of our day. These collaborative relationships have been facilitated by bi-lateral agreements between with international universities that focus on strengthening scholarly work through attracting international students, convening student-centered international conferences, faculty exchanges, conducting joint research activities and publications, participation in symposia seminars and academic meetings as well as hosting visiting international scholars. These activities contribute to enhancing international perspectives of next generation of educational leaders.
