Over 150 teachers’ names were put forward for the 16th Annual Teachers Who Made a Difference program last year.  Teachers from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky have been nominated for this honor.  Teachers from many other states have been honored.

Why do we do this? Teachers are exceptional people! They stimulate our minds, they encourage and challenge us, they support us, and they inspire us to become who we want to be. Honorees can be teachers, professors, principals or other educational professionals. They do not have to be graduates of the University of Kentucky or residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Also, there is no selection process for the program. We simply want to recognize educators who made a positive impact on the lives of their students. However, the number of honorees to be recognized is limited, so organizers ask that nominators limit recognitions to one educator per year.

We have reached our limit of nominations for 2015. If you wish to honor a teacher who made a difference, please return for the 2016 program.

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions for more information about the program contact Jeannine Schaefer, UK College of Education Office of Advancement, (859) 257-4014.
